Abu Jinapor, the Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, has expressed his strong support for Vice President Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to lead the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) as its presidential candidate in the upcoming 2024 elections. According to Jinapor, Bawumia’s exceptional skills and dedication make him the most suitable candidate to succeed President Akuffo-Addo.

Speaking during Vice President Bawumia’s official visit to Northern Ghana, Jinapor, who also serves as a member of parliament for Damongo, reiterated his endorsement of Bawumia’s candidacy in Kpalbe, Savannah Region.

“I firmly believe that there is no better person to lead the NPP into the 2024 Elections than him because of his skills and hard work,” Jinapor affirmed.

He further pledged his unwavering support to Vice President Bawumia, vowing to rally behind him wholeheartedly when the time comes for the NPP to select a new leader.

“When the time comes and His Excellency Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia decides to run, I will fully support him and work diligently alongside other party members in the Savannah Region to showcase his remarkable contributions and intelligence,” Jinapor declared.

Vice President Bawumia is preparing to contest in the NPP primaries once the party opens nominations in the coming months. He is expected to face stiff competition from contenders such as Alan Kyeremanten, Minister of Trade and Industry, and Kennedy Agyapong, Member of Parliament for Assin Central, among others.

While the race for the NPP’s presidential candidacy intensifies, Jinapor’s endorsement underscores the growing support within the party for Bawumia’s leadership aspirations, signaling potential shifts in the party’s dynamics as the 2024 elections approach.
